In Child Development, students learn first hand how parents and childcare providers can meet the needs for healthy growth and development of a child. This class focuses on everything from why we need to study parenting, to the birth process to child’s nutrition. Students will come of this course with a better knowledge of the effort and time it takes to raise a child. Class activities will emphasize the responsibilities and challenges of. Students are encouraged to participate in extended learning experiences and student organizations such as Family, Career, and Community Leaders of America (FCCLA) and SKILLS USA.

Work is due on the assigned date and late work will be deducted 30 points the day after due date, 50 points after that, and will not be taken after the third day. Make-up work is the responsibility of the student and should be obtained upon returning to school. If you are absent you need to ask for your missed work and notes.
The following grading scale will be used:
