I graduated from Wills Point High School in 1988 and received my Bachelor's degree in Theatre and Radio/Television and my Master's in Educational Technology from Texas A&M-Commerce. I am very blessed to have 5 awesome children and an amazing husband, Chris.

I have always been a "ham" at heart.  As a child, I performed "penny shows" for my parents.  I competed in UIL One-Act play through high school.  In college, I was fortunate to not only perform in several shows but design sets and lights, as well.  I competed in ACTF in college, which is similar to UIL One-Act, as "Mum" in The Ripper Show and How They Wrote It.  I have also been active in both the Van Zandt Community Theatre and Kaufman Community Theatre over the years.  My radio/television experience includes creating several short TV shows for our college TV station and as a part-time radio host for KETR in Commerce.

My teaching philosophy is very simple.  I want to teach my students "to love to learn."  I can cram a bunch of facts and figures into their heads all day, but it is temporary without the desire to keep learning.  I am a perpetual student by heart.  And learning doesn't have to take place behind a book or a computer.  Learning is a life experience that takes place anywhere.

I also want my students to find worth within themselves--no matter what they want to do with their lives.  I want them to set goals and achieve their dreams.  Whether they want to go to college, technical school, learn the family business, or start a career right out of high school; I want them to love what they do.  Twenty years from now, when they look back on their life, I want them to be pleased with what they have accomplished and not live with regrets.

I have many goals for the theatre department at Edgewood High School.  First and foremost, is that we serve our community and we represent our school with dignity.  I want people to say, "Wow!  That is an awesome group of students you have."  I also want to put Edgewood on the map, so to speak, in theatre.  There is a lot of talent in Edgewood despite the fact that we are in a small town.  I want our drama club to perform plays that are "top-quality."  I want us to go to competitions ready to do our best.  Even when we have a "bad" day, I want us to hold our heads high and get ready for the next "go-around."
