PAP United States History

PAP United States History Course Syllabus

Course Description

 

This is the study the history of the United States from Reconstruction until present. This course will teach students to theorize and analyze events which led to the advancement of the United States.

 

Course Supplies

2 Inch Binder, paper, black pen, red pen, dry erase marker

 

Course Grading Policy

Daily – 40%

 

Test -    60%

 

Daily grades will be given throughout the course for various assignments including worksheets, lecture notes, participation in class discussions, group assignments (including technology), and quizzes.

 

Tests will be given at the completion of each Topic. I reserve the right to give a test, at any time, over specific material, concepts, or ideas as we cover them: I may elect to do this if I determine that proper attention and effort is not being given by an individual or class, or for any reason that I deem necessary.

 

Retesting will be allowed for any test below 70%. The retest will be given at 7:35 A.M. the morning following the student receiving their original test grade.

 

Absences Refer to student handbook.

 

Nine Week Tests If a test is not given the nine week grade will be determined using the 40% Daily Grade and the 60% Test Grade formula. If a test is given it will be counted as a regular test grade and averaged in with the 60%.

 

Semester Tests will be made up of the previous 2 nine week grading periods. The Second Semester Test will include the entire school year.

 

Bonus Points can be achieved throughout the entire school year. These points are given in group settings or individual work that is specifically called Bonus Work. The bonus points will be added to your daily work grade.
