Grading Guidelines 2017-2018
Grades issued to EHS students must reflect mastery of
assignments, tests, projects, classroom activities,and other
The student’s performance indicates the level of mastery of the
standard and / or TEKS objective.
No grade shall be given as a reflection of, or given due
to disciplinary action.Teachers shall record a minimum of 19 grades each nine weeks.
There should be at least 15 daily grades and 4 assessments for 19 total. The daily
grades shall count as 50% and the assessments count as 50% of the grade:
Examples: Bell Work, Short answer, Class Participation and Practice problems
Examples: Short Answer, Quizzes, Small Projects, and Exit Tickets
Examples: Unit Tests, Nine Weeks Tests, Semester Tests, Large Projects
Campus grading guidelines will be clearly communicated to students and parents at the beginning of each semester through email, letters home, parent meetings, teacher webpages, and student class meetings.
Below are a few classroom policies.
When a student is absent and
homework is graded, I WILL
put an A in the grade book.
This A is an indicator that an
assignment needs to be made up.
It DOES NOT average in with
the other grades. This A will be
replaced with the student's grade
when the work is completed.
If the student has returned to
school and has not completed the
work in the allotted time,
replace the A with an M. An M
