What We Are Learning in Room 4

Reading:   Students will read the following stories "Mike's Bike"," The Nest", " Animal Groups" , " The Nice Vet" , and " Kite Time" . They will learn to read words with long I spelled with i_e, ie, igh.  They will also learn about digraphs kn, wr, gn, mb.     Students will continue working on sequencing events in stories read.  They will learn about characters, events, and the setting of the story. 

Language: Students will begin learning how to write a complete sentence and sentence rules.  We will write sentences together and independent stories.  Continue working on NOUNS(people, place, thing, animal).  Continue working on verbs (action words). We will begin working on different kinds of sentences (telling sentences that end with a period and questions that begin with a question word and end with a question mark). Continue to work on Adjectives (describing words). 

 Math:   Students will begin learning how to work story problems by looking for key words and using stratagies to know if they should add or subtract.  

: Students will learn about natural resources. Vocabulary : natural resource, air, water, rocks, animals, plants, and soil.  

 Social Studies
: Morning Meeting Board! 

Grading Policy
**All assignments are weighed equally as daily grades.**  
If your child receives below a 70 on a daily assignment, he/she may correct it.  Each corrected answer will be given 1/2 credit for a grade up to a 70.
