Class Topics
: PAAVTC students will analyze and assess current and emerging technologies, while investigate careers that include designing, producing, exhibiting, performing, writing and publishing multimedia content. They will discover how this field involves the visual and performing arts, journalism and entertainment services. Students implement personal and interpersonal skills to prepare for a rapidly evolving workplace environment. This class will be responsible for morning pledges starting in September.

 Class Expectations: Students must have good study habits, the ability to work independently and understand prioritizing assignments and good time management for successful completion of complex tasks.

 Goals:

Develop desktop publishing skills for the workplace
Investigate and report  on evolving technology and publishing trends
Understand copyright and fair use
Explore the different pathways of Art and Design

Grading:

Daily Work – 50%

  • Research
  • portfolio work
  • lab work

Tests – 50%

  • End of Unit tests
  • Major projects

Make-up work:

Students involved in extracurricular activities that require absence from class must get assignments BEFORE the absence occurs. All work is expected within 1-2 days of return to school.
