Who is Mrs. Baker?
Welcome to my page!  I appreciate you taking a few extra minutes to learn about me, so let me share some of my world with you.

I was born and raised in New Jersey by my amazing parents and blessed to grow up with a brother and two sisters.  I graduated from Clifton High School in 1990 and left the northeast for the much warmer, less crazy life in north Texas.  Family is my life and as much as I loved home, I wanted to see something else.  I attended the University of Dallas in Irving, Texas, and graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree in English in 1994.  Though I've had some interesting jobs over the years, my love of reading led me to begin teaching English in 1996.

My husband, Andy, and I have three children of whom we are incredibly proud!  Garrett is a sophomore business major at Texas A&M University; Shannon is in 11th grade; Connor is in 5th grade.  All of their activities keep us busy, and we wouldn't have it any other way.  We have lived in Edgewood for six years, and we love it here!  This is the type of town that we hoped to raise our family in and look forward to the years to come.

The 2017-2018 school year will be my twenty-second year to teach!  I have taught both special education and general education in grades 6-12. I can't wait to see what this year brings in English I.   Please contact me any time if you have a question or concern about your child.  I look forward to talking with you!
