Course description

Students investigate the field of accounting, including how it is impacted by industry standards as well as economic, financial, technological, international, social, legal, and ethical factors. Students reflect on acquired knowledge as they engage in the process of recording, classifying, summarizing, analyzing, and communicating accounting information. Students formulate and interpret financial information for use in management decision making.


  • Examinations and projects          = 60%
  • Quizzes and daily assignments   = 40%

    * All assignments are posted weekly in the classroom. Please see the Parent Portal (online gradebook) for updated grades.

    Electronic devices

    No electronic devices are to be out unless otherwise instructed by the teacher.

    Late work

    1 day late  – 30

    2 days late – 50

    3 days late – not accepting it

    Long-term projects not accepted late.

    Extra-Curricular Absences

    It is the student’s responsibility to ask the teacher for work that will be missed before absences for       extra-curricular events.

    Classroom Rules

  • Please be in the classroom before the tardy bell rings.
  • Please bring assignments and supplies to class every day.
  • Please respect the rights and property of others.
  • Please use appropriate language and behavior at all times.
  • Please follow the guidelines as outlined in student handbook.
