Teaching is an absolute passion of mine! I am so excited to work with you and your child. It’s going to be a year full of fun, learning, and lots of adventures, and I can’t wait to see what the year has in store for us. I thought you might like to know a little bit about me.

I am married to my wonderful husband, Darin. We have a son, Braxton, who is in seventh grade and a daughter, Sibyl, who is in fifth grade. They take up most of my free time. Sibyl is involved in youth rodeos and they are both showing steers this year. Sibyl and I also compete in barrel racing together. We live on a farm and raise Beefmaster cattle.

I have lived in Edgewood all of my life. I went to Edgewood High School and graduated from A&M Commerce in 2005.

This will be my sixth year teaching at Edgewood Intermediate. I taught 3rd grade Math for 4 years and this will be my second year teaching 4th grade math. I absolutely love teaching Math. It is my mission to instill a love of learning in my students. Please let me know if you have any question or concerns. It is important to keep communication open between us.

Late Work:
If an assignment is turned in late it will receive 30 points off per day.  Your child may not choose to take a zero instead of doing the work.

Homework:
Any assignment not finished in class will be finished for homework. Homework  will be sent home weekly and due on Friday. When homework is sent home it is expected to be brought back to school when due or it will be counted late.

Make-up Work (absences):
However many days your child is absent, they will have that many days plus 1 to make up the work. (Ex. 2 days absent = 3 days to make up the work)

Corrections: No corrections on daily work unless marked correct and return.

If a test is failed they will have an opportunity to correct or retake for up to a 70 but not guaranteed a 70. The child will have to ask to retake the test, it will not be an automatic and it must be done within a week of the original testing day.

Grading Policy:

Daily Grades/Tests 100%
