What We Are Learning in Room 4

Reading: Students will focus on words with short e.  They will read the stories "Pals", "Lucia's Neighborhood", "Ned, " Ken and Vic"and "My Pets" . Students will continue reviewing over the five vowels (a, e, i, o, u).  They will start blending sounds to read words with short vowels.  They will find what comes at the beginning, middle, and end or words.  They will also review rhyming. 

Language: Students will begin learning how to write a complete sentence (starts with a capital and ends with a punctuation mark). They will also work on word or in sentences. Students will begin learning about nouns. 

 Math: Students will continue working on place value. Students will understand tens and ones and make tens and ones. Place value to numbers to 120. They will begin using place value to compare numbers (greater, less, equal). 

: Five senses 

 Social Studies
: They will talk about where we live (country, state, city). 

Grading Policy
**All assignments are weighed equally as daily grades.**  
If your child receives below a 70 on a daily assignment, he/she may correct it.  Each corrected answer will be given 1/2 credit for a grade up to a 70.
