It's a GREAT day to be a Bulldog!
Edgewood High School
Welcome to Edgewood High School, Home of the Bulldogs!
Edgewood High School develops students that are highly productive members of communities all across America. Bulldogs have the opportunity to participate and excel a wide range of academic and extra-curricular challenges that help them get a broad and deep understanding of the world around them. We offer academic challenges including dual credit courses in cooperation with Trinity Valley Community College that allows students to graduate EHS with dozens of college credits and post-secondary experience. Athletic opportunities include football, basketball, track, tennis, golf and cross country. Academic UIL, FFA, band, and theater are overflowing with students desiring a wide variety of fulfilling experiences. A passionate and committed staff sets a lofty academic standard that produces college, career, and military ready young women and men. Our teachers make Edgewood High School a welcoming school to attend and grow in.
Please stop in and see all the great things happening in Bulldog Country!
A little about me:
I grew up on a Wisconsin farm, worked construction and served nine years in the Army before I became an educator. Amery, Wisconsin is where I spent the first 13 years of my education career. My teaching background is PE, Health, Driver Education, and Coaching. I served as interim principal and assistant principal at Amery High School also. Before arriving at Edgewood, I spent three years as principal at Boys Ranch High School in Boys Ranch, Texas.
Our son, Mitch, started the family migration to Texas in 2007 when he moved to the Dallas area to take a job as a power lineman. He is now a lineman supervisor at Farmers’ Electric Cooperative in Greenville. His wife, Jacklyn just completed her masters degree in nursing and is working as a surgery nurse in Rockwall. They are the proud parents of Madi who is 3 years old and Jordan who is 5 months. Those two princesses have their grandparents wrapped around their fingers. Needless to say, Madi and Jordan had more than a little to do with our desire to move out of the Panhandle and near DFW. Our daughter, Terri, loves Dallas so moved there in 2011. She works at the corporate offices of Jack Black as an international brand manager. She got married to Todd in October 2018. Todd works at Fanny Mae as a business analyst. Mary is my bride of 39 years. Mary has a background in medical coding. She is working at Terrell State Hospital in medical records.
Besides going to EHS events and spending time with family, I enjoy woodworking, metal fabricating, fixing anything, and working in the yard. My three favorite tools are my tractor, sawmill and chainsaw. At some point I hope to resume hunting and fishing which is where some of my fondest childhood memories originated.
