WELCOME HOME TO EDGEWOOD ISD, Ms. Skylette Wolf!! 🏠
Ms. Wolf will be joining Edgewood Intermediate as a Fifth Grade ELAR Teacher for the 2025-2026 school year. 🥳
We had a few minutes to sit down and talk with Ms. Wolf and here is what we learned about our new family member. 🥰
💜 Where did you attend college and what degrees and/or certificates do you hold? I earned my Bachelor’s degree in Education from the University of Texas at Tyler, graduating with a 4.0 GPA. I'm certified to teach Early Childhood through 6th grade and feel so blessed to be living out my calling as a teacher.👩🎓
💜 How long have you been in education? This is my second year as a certified teacher, but I’ve been in classrooms in some way for several years now! I actually started my journey as a substitute teacher right here in Edgewood, which is what inspired me to go back to school and pursue my degree in education. 👩🏫
💜 Tell us a little bit about your previous experience. I was a student teacher at Andy Woods Elementary and Caldwell ISD in Tyler, as well as Van Intermediate. Then, just one week after graduating, I accepted a first grade teaching position at J.E. Rhodes Elementary in Van, TX. It was the most amazing first year full of growth, learning, and mentorship—I truly couldn’t have asked for a better start.🏫
💜 What would you like to share about your family? I’m a proud mom to the sweetest little boy, Layken Ty, who is four years old and absolutely full of energy! Being his mom is my greatest joy. I’m also an only child to my wonderful parents, Christy and Chad Francis, who have always supported my dreams and believed in me even on the hard days. Family is everything to me. 🥰
💜 Can you share a fun fact about yourself? Fun fact—I graduated from Trinity Valley Community College in 2020 with my associate’s degree, and before that, I graduated from Mabank High School in 2019. It’s been such a journey, and I’ve loved every step that’s brought me here! 🫶
💜 What do you enjoy outside of work? Outside of teaching, my favorite thing is spending time with Layken. Whether we're at karate practice, playing outside, or just doing all the silly and sweet things that come with being a boy mom—he keeps life exciting and full of love. 🥰
💜 Can you tell us why you CHOSE EDGEWOOD? Edgewood is where my journey started—it’s where I first stepped into a classroom as a substitute, and it’s the place that made me fall in love with teaching. I always dreamed of coming back here not just to teach, but to give back. I have family members who are students here, and family who also run a small business in the community, so Edgewood truly feels like home. I’m looking forward to growing with my students, building meaningful relationships, and making lasting memories. Teaching is my passion, and I feel so lucky to be doing what I love—right here, in the place that inspired it all. 💜🐾💛🐾🤍
Again, WELCOME HOME MS.WOLF!!! We are excited to have you join us at Edgewood ISD!! 💜🏡💜

At Edgewood ISD, we cherish the opportunity to say “𝑾𝒆𝒍𝒄𝒐𝒎𝒆 𝑯𝒐𝒎𝒆” 🏡 to our newest team members. As we look ahead to the 2025–2026 school year 📚, we also want to honor our dedicated family members 👨👩👧👦 who are transitioning into new roles within our district.
Our first change is Mrs. Kristy Jones. 🎉
Mrs. Jones is currently the Elementary Principal 🏫. In 2025-2026, she will be the new Director of Human Resources and District PEIMS Data Coordinator 📊. (Actually, she is currently serving in both roles.)
We asked Mrs. Jones a few questions about her new position, and here is what we learned:
𝐖𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐝𝐨𝐞𝐬 𝐄𝐝𝐠𝐞𝐰𝐨𝐨𝐝 𝐦𝐞𝐚𝐧 𝐭𝐨 𝐲𝐨𝐮?
"Edgewood isn’t just where I work, it’s where I’ve always called home 🏠. As a lifelong resident, this community means the world 🌍 to me. Our schools are the heart 💜 of Edgewood, and I’m so proud to be part of a district full of traditions, amazing students 🎓, and truly great people 👏."
𝐖𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐚𝐫𝐞 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐥𝐨𝐨𝐤𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐟𝐨𝐫𝐰𝐚𝐫𝐝 𝐭𝐨 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐦𝐨𝐬𝐭 𝐢𝐧 𝐲𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐧𝐞𝐰 𝐫𝐨𝐥𝐞?
"In this new position, I’ll get to work district-wide 🌐, which means supporting not just one school, but all of them! I’m especially excited to be a resource for new teachers 👩🏫👨🏫 and staff as they join our incredible Edgewood family 👨👩👧👦. Thank you to everyone who has supported me throughout my time as principal—I carry those experiences with me, and look forward to what’s ahead! This community means everything to me, and I can’t wait to continue serving it in this new way."
A huge CONGRATULATIONS 🎉 to Mrs. Jones!!

April 20th was National Volunteer Recognition Day, and on Wednesday, Edgewood Elementary hosted a Volunteer Luncheon to express our gratitude to our Elementary Reading Volunteers.
This group is truly exceptional.
Many of you will recognize some familiar faces, especially since several of our volunteers are retired teachers. Each and every one of them selflessly gives their time to help support our youngest readers and we are so very thankful!!
